Day 4
Nothing gets me in the mood for Christmas like Christmas music. I love to listen to carols and various renditions all through December. They are just simple pleasures. The original versions are my favorites, but I do like an updated carol here and there.
Has anyone else noticed that not only is corporate retailers decorating before Thanksgiving, but they are piping Christmas music into radio stations about that time too? I have a station here that plays only Christmas music from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve. I love it. This year they started on November 10th! What is up with that? I refuse to listen to Christmas music until Thanksgiving is over. I don’t want to blend the holidays; each one means something different for me and I want to keep it that way.
So, Friday I switched all of my cd’s in my car to my Christmas collection, the radio is set to the Christmas station and I have a few stations programmed in Win amp too, just in case I need my fix elsewhere.
I’ve tried several times to come up with a list of Christmas music that is my all-time favorite and I fail. I fail not because I can’t make a list, but because every single song I know is on that list. I can, however, name the song that sits at the top of the list; the one that I love to hear every single Christmas and never ever get tired of it.
Oh, Holy Night
